About

Afro Glitz Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine with a blog network that's updated daily. In all the popular magazines that cater to women of color and even in the ones that don't, we will constantly face images that serve as reminders of how certain scenes haven't quite accepted us fully. On top our our talents, we often have to transform into bionic women in order to generate tons of buzz, while the ones who don't go unseen, or isn't shown the amount of love they would receive if they were to mold themselves into to a more standard image. This only continues the cycle of self-hatred that our community has been plagued with for decades.

Afro Glitz Magazine in a nut-shell:
1. We're always going to promote natural beauty, giving little girls of color images that they can look up to without having to feel like they have to alter themselves.

2. We're not afraid to speak our minds because we know that it's impossible to please everyone. It's best to say how you really feel, as opposed to putting up a front. (Issues can't be combated without breaking down the wall.)

3. We zoom in on topics that our community needs to be more aware of, are afraid of, or may never have heard of.

4. We're dedicated to giving talented people their well deserved shine. We love "big names" and "no names" all the same. If you're talented, we'll feature you regardless. Everyone has to start somewhere.

5. We are not interested in cashing in on a celebrity's downfall. Jumping on tasteless, overcrowded bandwagons full of people who constantly spread celebrity rumors for money just isn't our style.
